- Lots of small pieces
- Big chess board

Description:
Set up all the giant pieces of one color in their starting positions (review with students what goes where). Put a bucket with small pieces out in the field. Have students run and grab the smaller pieces and put them in the squares with the matching giant pieces.
Description for Parents:
The children helped set up one side of the giant chessboard. Then they took regular size pieces from a bucket in the middle of the field and raced to place them on the chessboard next to the giant size pieces.
