  • At least 10 of the giant pieces

      Students will be able to:

      • Identify the separate chess “teams” as black and white
      General Objective(s):
      • Improve gross motor skills

      Have the students wait on the board while the instructor sets up the pieces in the middle of the play area. Instruct the students that the white pieces need to go to one side of the area and the black pieces the other. Have students line up on the board, then call on students one by one to move a piece to the appropriate side then come back to the board. Then call on them one by one to move them back to the middle. Repeat as necessary.
